[Ikuto is normally a pretty laidback person, but today you can see some sort of formality in the way he stands. Though he's still not the most official guy there is, really. He's currently standing in one of the training rooms at the Goldenrod base.]

I guess I should introduce myself now that I have a new mission. [He's still not sure how he even got the mission with the failure of a mission making his record look back, but he's not complaining.] I'm Ikuto Tsukiyomi, a Grunt, and I will be training some those who are new to the team. I have been a member since January, so I'll most likely be able to answer any questions you may have.

[Except it really isn't. Ikuto doesn't really have the guts to make an audio or a video post at this point (with the picture on the news and all), so he'll just use the text function this time around.]

What would you do if your dreams and hopes would be crushed in an instant? Would you become an empty shell or would you continue struggling and try to live an interesting life?

There are ways to do that. Just because it hasn't happened to you or anyone near you doesn't mean it hasn't happened to others.

I couldn't give up, even if that happened... I wouldn't be able to be happy with myself if I did.

How far would you be able to continue if everything would imply that there's nothing you can do to reach your dreams?

Even if everything said that, then... You'll never truly know if there's some chance unless you keep trying, will you?

That may be true. There aren't many people willing to find out. There are easier things you can do, after all.

Giving up isn't an option.
Despite how devastating that may be, it just isn't.

Why? Wouldn't it be easier to just go with flow and forget you ever tried?

Perhaps, but there are people who care and depend on you.
By giving up, you let them down.

Besides...
By continuing to live, you allow yourself to obtain new hopes and dreams.
Life isn't about one and only one goal. Otherwise it would be pointless and over once you obtain it.

So basically you're saying that even if you'd lose one dream, you should continue the way you are to find another. If not for the sake of yourself, then for the sake of others.

[In their world it seemed that you had one dream and once that was crushed it was all over. Huh...]

Perhaps some people give up because they fear or expect to fall again.

[While Ishimaru is usually less...uh, openly shouty over text, anyway, his wording is far more awkward than usual. That's probably saying something, as the kid is hardly an example of flawless social grace in the first place, but this is a topic he has feelings on, okay.]

I would like to say that I would persevere - that I would continue on in the face of adversity and find a new path, even in the face of despair itself. That's the principle I've based my life around, and ideally, that's what I would like to believe I would do - I would prove myself correct, basically.

So, no matter how hard and painful your life would become, you wouldn't even think about giving up, even if it would make things easier, because it's your principle?

I've never believed in doing what's easy over doing what's right; in this case, adhering to my principles is what I think is the right thing to do.

Someone without a will. Who doesn't have their own path to follow and just does the things the society expects them to with no passion at all.

I don't get it. [That explanation seriously didn't compute for him at all, so he won't chase the topic.]

I don't have any dreams, but if I did and I lost them, I think I'd just go until I found more.

I'm glad to see that someone is interested in training the new recruits. That was my job prior to a... setback...

[Said setback was being sent home and being reset completely within Team Rocket. He misses his rank of Beta so badly...]
